What is Server2.com?

Server2.com is a hobby website offering free permanent sub-domain addresses to anyone with a static IP address.

What does Server2.com do with my private information?

Server2.com is committed to your privacy.  Information collected (including your IP, email address, name, etc.) is never sold to any 3rd parties and is only collected to allow us to contact you regarding your account(s). We don't even have a newsletter!

Who is Server2.com designed for?

Server2.com is built for end-users with DSL, Cable or ISDN connections to the Internet.  Server2.com can also be used to provide a free sub-domain for business to consumer and business to business websites.  The only requirement is that you have a static IP address (every time you log in to your network, you receive the same IP).

What services does Server2.com provide to it's members?

Server2.com provides DNS service, sub-domains, free web-based email, games, syndicated news and more.

What is the load meter?

Server2.com's load meter is created from monitoring pages shown per second. It is calculated dynamically from the last few minutes of activity on the server. Each section that is red indicates 1/12th of what we consider to be the maximum server load. If all 12 sections are red, our server may not produce all pages correctly, or maybe experiencing some type of difficulty. In that case, please visit later when the server load has returned to normal.

What is the number next to my name?

The number next to your name in the Login Panel is the number of times you have logged into Server2.com.

What do you mean by 'External Services'?

Server2.com has teamed up with Everyone.net to provide our free Webmail service. The service provides you with your very own email address (IE: yourname@server2.com). Server2.com's free webmail requires a separate sign-up and login with Everyone.net.

What Does it Cost?

Server2.com is providing this service to the Internet community for free.

When did Server2.com go online?

Server2.com began accepting registrations online on January 1, 2000.

How do I sign up?

Server2.com hosts an online application available here: ( http://www.server2.com/Registration/ )

How long does it take?

Generally, the sign-up process will take less than 3 minutes.  You will immediately receive a confirmation message acknowledging our receipt of your request.  Your sub-domain should be approved within 24 hours and DNS changes made at that time.  DNS propagation (the process of spreading information from one DNS server to another across the Internet) should be complete within 24-48 hours and your site will respond.

How do I contact Server2.com?

Server2.com can be contacted via our Online Helpdesk.
